Life's Tough when you have a dark sense of humor...

This is Chat Roulette at its finest...

I'd say 0:35 is my favorite reaction. The laughing responses are probably the saddest:

Life's Tough when this is what you do daily...

Like my friends in college used to say to our less-outgoing buddy, Gabe:
If you want to get what you want, you've gotta
BE THE HAMMER!

Every day I walk into the office and I think of the daily hardships as tiny men who will soon fall mercilessly to my hammer...Like this:

DAILY. I do my work the same way this guy just did. Except with more grunting and sadness.

Most days, however, the rest of the Comix staff thinks of me as this guy:

In my head, I'm hammering away at creating new shows and plowing through spreadsheets without so much as a blink of an eye. But really, I get all gung-ho and end up breaking a TV or accidentally sending a box of hats to a computer repair center in Iowa. These realities are what keep me a Leroy Jenkins in this office, and not a LARP Champion.

Life's Tough when you don't have a lot of time to write...

Sorry everyone! Spike got in the way of my work today (No, I'm not talking about my penis. The TV Network!)

So, here's the funniest picture I've seen all day:

Have a great weekend!

Office Supply Ordering Time!

A lot of people don't realize it, but underneath the hilarity of the Comix mainstage is an intense network of offices that house all of our amazing and high-powered executives. Today we'd thought we'd show you all a little peek at our day to day operations by letting you in on our most recent office supply order.

Justin decided he needed his hands free more, so he asked for the Mental Typewriter. (Now we can finally read his thoughts)

Lauren insisted on the mouse made out of a mouse, which I think is fiscally irresponsible in this wintry economic climate (those things are PRICEY!)
Dan has been asked to stop dressing up for work, and yet he still requested an IPod tie.

I am not a prima donna, so I merely put in a request for a Desktop Bag. I'm getting tired of lugging my 1999 Hewlett Packard computer to work every day.

Witness Feats of Absolute Nerdiness!

This weekend we have proto-nerd Chris Hardwick here at Comix. Now, if you've ever seen Hardwick, you'll see he's too hot to be geeky, and he's done everything from co-host Singled Out on MTV to hosting Web Soup on G4. So you might think a guy like this doesn't really live up to his nickname of "Nerdist".

But you'd be wrong. In an interview with NY Press, Hardwick reveals
“I was a proto-nerd when being a nerd was not hip. I was in chess club tournaments. I studied Latin. I owned my first computer in 1981. I was the president of the Classics club and got my ass kicked for being a nerd,” proclaims Hardwick. “Now it’s this hip, retro thing. Now if you wear an Atari shirt it’s cool, but if I wore one when I was a kid I got stuffed in a trashcan.”

He also revealed that he plays D&D with Patton Oswalt and Brian Posehn, and that he recite Pi up to about 180 decimal places. !!!!

Go read the rest of the interview at NY Press, and then go to our site and use code CHFB to get $5 off your tickets!

Our Fourteen Favorite Moments from the ECNY Awards

And now, here are our favorite moments from last night's ECNY Awards. Let us know if we missed anything!

  • Andrew WK challenging the guy from Murderfist to drink a triple-sized drink onstage for $20.
  • Eugene Mirman randomly accepting the award for Hannibal Buress.
  • Tom Shillue’s amazing f-word filled acceptance speech- "It's very nice, thank you...I want to thank Comix because these guys get it. The future- I'm serious. Stop with all this ironic shit. Fuck all you people. This club gets it. The future of comedy is community, and that's what this is, all right?"
  • The aforementioned passionate acceptance speech being cut off by “Me So Horny”, and if you glanced up into the sound booth, getting a glimpse of Kambri Crews in the sound booth giggling like a mad woman.
  • How many people that won and WEREN’T there? Does that count?
  • Adira Amram trying to get out of her egg during her performance.
  • Comedienne Livia Scott showing up in a red skin-tight dress and long flowing blonde wig looking FABULOUS.
  • “Live” video feed from Reno, Nevada with Michael Ian Black introducing the “Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Tweeting”
  • All 789 members of Murderfist crowding the stage to accept their award and taking 30 minutes to file back out.
  • One female comic loudly exclaiming “I DRANK WAY LESS THIS YEAR THAN LAST YEAR! I FEEL GOOD ABOUT THAT!”
  • Shayna Ferm and Carolyn Castiglia performing "Marriage is for Fags."
  • Nick Turner and Jesse Popp shamelessly plugging their shows while presenting Best Postcard.
  • Katherine Bryant Flaherty bringing out the box of trophies for Murderfist.
  • Jon renaming the ECNY's Elephants Can Not Yawn, even though that's not true.

Cloudy with a Chance of Hilarity!

Who was that weatherman on the CW 11? Funny you should ask. It was Harlan Halper, co-owner of Comix! He was the "Friday Forecaster" this morning ushering in good weather news -- clear, sunny and kind of warm just in time for our free annual Oscar viewing party this Sunday. Read what the CW11 had to say by clicking here.

Life's Tough for the Pets of Good Christians...

Yesterday we finally found a way to insure our dogs' futures.

Though for a long while I believed that all dogs go to Heaven, this website solves a problem I've been contemplating for years:
When the Rapture occurs, who will take care of my soulless pure-bred pugs (Spanky and Buckwheat)?!

"How much cuter will I be when you abandon me for Jesus?"

The answer is simple. Leave the pet with someone equally as ethic-less as an animal: an atheist.

http://eternal-earthbound-pets.com/

I have thought of one problem with this, BTW. What if the assumed "atheist" I put in charge of watching my beautiful, loving, amoral puppies turns out to be a closet Christian who just needed a few extra bucks. Will he then ascend to Heaven with the rest of us? How awkward will that be! Sitting peacefully with my risen brothers and sisters, while we slowly watch little Spanky starve to death? That doesn't sound nice at all!

Anyway, be sure to check the FAQs page! The first question might be on your minds as well.
